We are focusing on women’s fashion this week on our Bowdabra Blog.   Around the globe, feathers are a very popular hair accessory, ever since Kate Middleton “Duchess of Cambridge” wore a handmade feather ‘fascinator’ on her first post-engagement outing.

Ladies, add feathers to your Bowdabra Bows to create a sophisticated – Duchess of Cambridge – inspired look.

Materials Needed:

Instructions:

1. Begin by gathering your materials. You will need a Mini Bowdabra, Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool and Ruler, and Bowdabra Bow Wire.

2. Place the Bowdabra® Hair Bow Tool and Ruler onto the Mini Bowdabra, leaving a space at the bottom for the Mini Bowdabra tower to move. Cut an 18” piece of Bowdabra Bow Wire and fold it in half. Lay it into the Mini Bowdabra. You’ll have a loop at one end and two loose pieces at the opposite end.

3. To make a 5” wide bow Pinwheel Bow cut the ribbon 18” long. Cut each end of the ribbon with a diagonal cut. Seal each end with clear nail polish. Fold the ribbon in half to find the center. Make a crease at the center point. Place the ribbon at the crease mark down into the center of the Mini Bowdabra.

4. To make your first loop, fold and make a crease into the ribbon and press into the Mini Bowdabra at the 2.5” mark. Point tail facing down.

5. To make your second loop, fold and make a crease into the ribbon and press into the Mini Bowdabra at the 2.5” mark. Point tail facing up.

6. Stack assorted colored feathers on top of the pinwheel bow.

7. Cut two 6” strands of sheer ribbon. Seal each end with clear nail polish. Fold the ribbon in half to find the center. Make a crease at the center point. Place the ribbon at the crease mark down into the center of the Mini Bowdabra.

8. Scrunch down with Mini Bowdabra Wand.

9. While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the Mini Bowdabra Bow Wire through the loop at the other end.

10. Pull the Bowdabra Bow Wire tightly while the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra.

11. Gently pull the bow out of the Mini Bowdabra. Separate the two loose ends of the Bowdabra Bow Wire and bring them around to the back of the bow and knot.

12. Using the Bowdabra Bow Wire tie the bow to a small French clip.

13. Bring the Bowdabra Bow Wire back to the front of the bow attach beaded charms to the front of the bow. Trim away excess wire.

14. Fluff bow and wear.
