It’s fun to decorate for the holidays, and one of the easiest decorations to create is a pretty wreath. One can be hung on a door, a wall, a mirror, or even on the back of a chair. Many people feel making a bow is the most intimidating part of wreath making, but using your Bowdabra will make the bow making process quick, easy, and fun!

Step by step instructions for making a pretty bow for a wreath are provided below. If you would like to learn how to make the wreath, Shannon of Cozy Home Scenes has a tutorial on her blog to make the Shamrock Wreath shown in the pictures.

You’ll need:

  • 1 1/4 inch wide creamy white wire edge creamy satin ribbon
  • 1 1/4 inch wide sheer hunter green ribbon
  • Bowdabra
  • Bowdabra Wire
  • Scissors

To Assemble:

1. Cut a piece of Bowdabra Bow Wire 19 inches long. Fold in half and place in the Bowdabra.

2. Cut a long strip of creamy white ribbon for the bow tails. Fold it in half to find the center, then place center into the Bowdabra.

3. Leaving ribbons on the spool, hold white and green ribbons together with the white on top. Insert RIGHT SIDE DOWN into the Bowdabra. You should see the green ribbon on top as shown.

4. Make a loop approx. 3 inches long. Twist the end of the loop before inserting it into the Bowdabra. Note the loop is white and other end is green.

5. Make a loop on the right side of the bow and twist end before inserting into the Bowdabra. There should be a white loop on each side of the bow. The ribbon on the spool should have the green on top.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 two more times until there are 3 loops of each color on both sides. Note the loops are all white and the free end has the green on top.

7. Cut the green end to the bow center, leaving it just long enough for the wire to catch the bow end. Cut the white ribbon the length of the loops. Refer to the picture below if needed.

8. Fold this small white piece and place the end into the Bowdabra. This makes a small loop that will be the center of the bow.

9. Scrunch the bow center with the Bowdabra Wand.

10. Leave the bow in the Bowdabra for now. Thread the 2 loose ends of the Bowdabra Bow Wire through the loop at the other end. Pull the wire tightly so the bow will not fall apart, then remove from the Bowdabra. Separate the two loose ends of the wire and bring them around to the back of the bow. Double knot, then trim wire ends.

11. Fluff bow and gently pull the green loops so they are visible.

12. Glue bow to your wreath, then trim ends at a diagonal (as shown) or dove tail ends
